Nutrition Tip - Nuts

Nuts are a great snack full of protein, fibre, vitamins, minerals and healthy fats, providing a host of health benefits. They are antioxidants and help balance blood pressure and keep healthy nerves and muscles.


Nuts include Brazil nuts, chestnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, pistachios, walnuts and peanuts. They should be stored in cool dark place or fridge.


Nutritional value - approx 170cals and 16g fat per 25g (eg approx 20 almonds)


Combine nuts with dried fruit eg raisins, apricots for good source of iron.
